TaylorMade Introduces a Rossa® TP Putter Line

"Tour Preferred" Putters a Collaboration Between
Rossa Putter Engineers and Tour Professionals

CARLSBAD, Calif. (March 10, 2004) – Rossa, a putter brand of TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company, has introduced a new line of putters called Rossa TP (TP stands for "Tour Preferred."). The Rossa TP putter line is the product of a collaboration between Rossa putter engineers and a variety of tour professionals that resulted in the fine-tuning of six existing Rossa putter models. This fine-tuning includes subtle changes and refinements that succeed in making the Rossa TP line of putters look, feel and perform in ways that tour pros prefer.

Issued in limited quantities, the Rossa TP putter line includes two mallets, the Maranello 8-01 and Maranello 8-02; and four blades, the Daytona 1-02, Siena 4-02, Modena 4-02 and Imola 6-02. All feature TaylorMade's striking TP logo, identifiable by its dual racing flags, on the sole.

Rossa TP putters are constructed of 1020 carbon steel and are 100 percent precision-milled with strict attention to detail, and "tour-shaped" to satisfy the high standards and visual tastes of a tour pro. The Rossa TP Blades feature a tungsten weight sole insert allowing for exact CG placements and improved overall head shape. The new Rossa TP putter models are derivatives of the former Rossa Tour putters with slightly different dimensions. We worked with various players to reshape and size things like blade lengths, width and the top line. These putters are absolutely beautiful.

Each Rossa TP putter incorporates TaylorMade's famous dual Titallium insert technology used in the Rossa putters, one in the clubface, one in the back of the putterhead, permitting the reallocation of 35 grams of weight to strategic areas of the putterhead, increasing the head's moment of moment of inertia (MOI) for increased stability. In addition, the clubface insert delivers an extraordinary soft-yet-crisp feel at impact that's unparalleled.

"The new Rossa TP line of putters are crafted with the input of tour professionals," says Sean Toulon, Senior Vice President of Brand Management and Creation for TaylorMade, "and should appeal to skilled players with discerning tastes."

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for each Rossa TP putter is $300.
